While many actors and actresses from around the world have undergone plastic surgery, it's only a select few who will discuss the decision publicly. Although a few Hollywood stars have been open about their decision to go under the knife, it's even rarer for Bollywood stars in India to openly admit to getting work done.
That's not the case with Farak Khan, an Indian director and choreographer who has been responsible for some of the country's most popular movies. Khan recently made the transition from behind the camera to in front of it with her first acting role. The star later revealed she had undergone a tummy tuck procedure – but not for the reason people thought.
While many assumed Khan got the procedure in order to look better on camera, the actress actually held off on the surgery until after filming was completed on the movie. Instead, Khan says the choice to get a tummy tuck was a personal one and unrelated to her film career.
"Yes, I went through a tummy tuck," Khan told Mid-Day.com "There is nothing to hide. I know many people who will refrain from talking about it. I did not do it to pursue my acting aspirations, otherwise I would have done it before the film’s shoot began. It is just that as I had delivered triplets, my tummy was hanging. There was no way any amount of exercise and diet would help. It is something that I wanted to do for personal reasons. As I currently had time on hand, I went for it after doing extensive research on it."
Although she may not be well known on this side of the globe, many women may take inspiration from Khan's decision to be open about her choice to get a tummy tuck, especially after delivering three children. As Khan stated, it's important for women to do research into the procedure, such as investigating tummy tuck cost and recovery period.
