When Kate Middleton and Prince William got married last year, almost everybody's eyes were on the bride, but many people couldn't help but notice how great Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, looked. The 57-year-old may have unintentionally started a new trend – following her lead, many mothers of brides are making sure they look as good as their daughter, according to the Daily Mail.
The shifting trend was revealed in a recent poll of about 1,000 people, half of whom said they thought guests would be talking about which mother – that of the bride or the groom – looked best.
The study also uncovered what moms of blushing brides were willing to do in order to look as best as possible. Researchers discovered that about 10 percent of respondents said they'd consider a tummy tuck procedure, Botox or some other cosmetic treatment to help them look good, according to the newspaper.
Mothers of brides appear to fit the demographic that undergoes the most tummy tucks. Statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show that patients 40 and over are the most likely to go under the knife for the procedure.
