Tummy tucks have become one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries over the last several years, and it's easy to see why. The procedure can dramatically improve self-confidence and body image and it has become a crucial part of the burgeoning trend known as "mommy makeovers." And one plastic surgeon in Denver believes he has found a way to improve upon the tummy tuck.
The treatment has been dubbed Combined LipoAbdominoplasty Sculpting and Shaping (CLASS) and is a melding of Italian and Brazilian techniques. At the heart of the procedure is the combination of a tummy tuck with liposuction, something which many surgeons in the past have been hesitant to perform. However, recent advancements have made combining the two procedures much safer.
"While it takes slightly longer to perform the surgery, as there are many steps involved, the C.L.A.S.S. technique has clear advantages and the final contour clearly justifies its use," the innovative Denver-based surgeon said.
Though the surgery may have a slightly longer recovery time, statistics show that it is worth it. A recent study of more than 200 patients who had the combined procedure found 99 percent of them would recommend it others.
