As Tara Reid attempts to rebuild her film career, the "American Pie" star said she is tired of having to defend her decision to get plastic surgery. The 36-year-old, who underwent a breast augmentation and tummy tuck procedure in her younger days, recently lashed out at Australia's News.com.au after she was asked about the work she had done.
Though not shy about the fact that she has had plastic surgery, Reid feels as if the attention she has received for her decision is overblown. After all, she's not the only celebrity to go under the knife, and she likely will not the be last.
"Yeah, I had it. End of story," she told the news source. "It's annoying. It’s as if I’m the only person in the world who’s had it. I don’t want to be a poster child for it. I've done a lot more stuff in my life than have plastic surgery."
That's certainly true. In addition to "American Pie," she has starred in everything from "The Big Lebowski" to "National Lampoon's Van Wilder."
Reid has a point. Breast augmentation was the most popular cosmetic surgery in 2011, with more around 307,000 such procedures performed.
